Telling Mom and Dad

It took Connie weeks of staying silent, but she managed to keep quiet until Mom and Dad came for their visit. The exact date escapes us, but it was a Spring Break visit.

Delivering the news

To mark and remember this historical event, we opted to record the phone calls as we made the announcement to our family. We started with Robert's family, because Connie's family was coming to visit and we wanted to tell them in person. Here are the calls.

Robert's Mom | We first called Lisa on March 12, but did not record the call. The first recorded call was with Belly, moments after talking with Lisa. We called her late while she was in the Miami Area. Once she heard the news, she asked, "why don't you love me?" because she thought we were kidding. But then, when she believed us, she flipped out! Ten minutes after hanging up, she called back saying she could not sleep anymore.
